Here Is How Your Dollars Achieve Community Impact YES! Two sisters are achieving their life goals because of the Boys and Girls Club of Davidson County. One is a senior at NC A & T University studying Sociology and the other is set to begin training in Charlotte. Their single parent mother said that her daughters wouldn’t be where they are today if not for the support and guidance of the Boys & Girls Club of Davidson County. Together…we do what matters. YES! A family of four can start their lives over again because of the Red Cross here in Davidson County. Fire ripped through their home and turned everything to ashes. United Way dollars gave the family vouchers for food, clothing, and money to stay in a motel until they got things sorted out. The parents and children all came to the Red Cross office the next morning and began to rebuild their lives. Together…we do what matters. YES! Recently, Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Davidson County received a referral from Vocational Rehabilitation for a man in need of new hearing aids. He had already met his maximum of financial assistance from VR, as well as from the state of NC. United Way dollars provided the man with two brand new hearing aids. The man is now doing well at his job, feels better about his life, and is able to contribute to society. Together…we do what matters.
